Fordyce to Calion backdrop

I got a chance to paint the backdrop from where I left off at Fordyce, down to Calion, just North of the Ouachita River.

Fordyce is to the left, looking south.

Looking north from the Ouachita River.

Hopefully next, I'll be working on the scene behind the Ouachita River or I'll try to get the town of El Dorado proper raised and work back to the river scene?

  1. That's looking really great Allen. It's good to get the back drop done on these parts of the layout before adding scenery.

    1. Thanks Brad.
I can't believe how much depth this little bit of paint has added to the layout! I'm so happy I pushed myself to pick up the brush.

  2. That did come out really nice. Definitely something to be proud of.

  3. Adding back drops sure makes a huge difference to any model railroad. I particularly like hand painted ones that do not dominate the scene and yours pulls that of nicely.
    Good job Allen.

    1. That's one thing I did not want to happen, have it overpower the modeled section. Thanks Rod!
